After Captain Tama’s we had 3 hours before our party bus arrived so showered and hung around our room watching whales swim by, having drinks – gin and tonics for me and Smirnoff Vodka Black Ice for Mich, painting nails and filling our water bottles with alcohol (rules were no drinking or smoking on the bus – yeah right). Then we went out to our Sand Bar and had blue lagoon cocktails. Our bus was due so went out front and where others were also waiting – all Australians! Then a whole heap more having a birthday party turned up and we ended up introducing ourselves and having drinks out the front of our resort. Then our bus rolls up with party lights flashing and loud music blaring which was for us two and all the Australians, the others were waiting for the other party bus. We all got leied (for ID at the pubs) then the host said ‘everyone got their drinks’, we said no like the others, we only have our water. So he said well 1st stop is the bottle store. Mich couldn’t resist and although she had her undercover vodka she went and bought bourbon.
We began with a stop at the Hula Bar where we arrived about 15 minutes early, the host said to hang outside a bit but not one of us listened and all went inside, here we were given a rude welcome (probably from being too early) and a complimentary cocktail that we all think was disgusting and we were poisoned. I drank most of mine but all the Australians biffed theirs and bought their own drinks. This is where I felt sick and went and had a vomit in the toilets.
From there the next stop was Vaianas Bar which is right on the beach, has a party atmosphere and we bumped into the others from Club Raro. We had Blue Lagoons and complimentary bar snacks here. Definitely a place to go back to.
From Vaianas Bar, it was the fishing club with super cheap drinks and friendly locals. We were getting sick of cocktails so I had a gin and tonic and Mich a Heineken. It was their karaoke night and the locals made our bus sing with the Australians picking the song. Lucky we all knew it. We had a great night there singing and yarning. Then our bus continues on to town where you will visit another 2 bars including Rehab Nightclub. But because we got lost and couldn’t find our bus while everyone was waiting for us and the host helping us zigzag to the bus then nearly fall over he said I think you should go home, so us and a couple of Australians got taken back to the resort. Mich spent the night in the bathroom so I had to lean over her to go to the toilet.
Next morning we slept in and missed our ukulele lessons at Edgewater Resort Coconut Kids Club. We did arrive but being late we didn’t want to join in and try to learn from the start. So we went exploring and shopping again.
